French Nobel prizewinner Luc Montagnier has again spoken out in public, this time, in order to warn about a dangerous side effect of the mRNA vaccines. Speaking on the French radio station, Sud Radio, Montagnier described the side effects of the vaccines in terms of three phases: “First we saw the common, immediate side effects (headaches, localized pain, fatigue, fever etc.) which, in general, do not last long. Then we saw, a few months later, numerous cardiovascular problems such as myocarditis in young people. Now we are seeing cases of prion disease such as Creutzfeld-Jakob disease, which is a fatal degenerative brain disorder.”

In general, cases of Creutzfeld-Jakob disease are extremely rare. But, already, Montagnier noted, 7 cases of Creutzfeld-Jakob have been reported in France. The one common factor linking all 7 cases is that they occurred following administration of the second dose of the Pfizer vaccine. When pressed about the significance of these 7 cases, Montagnier replied: “We cannot prove a direct link between the vaccine and the disease but we have a duty to examine the hypothesis that there is a linkage because the only common factor between these cases is the vaccine.”

Montagnier warned that we are currently in the midst of the third phase of vaccine side effects.

He cited a prior example of cases of Creutzfeld-Jakob disease that resulted from the administration of nefarious medication. In the 1980s, 119 children died from C-J disease after having been given a growth hormone. When the doctors responsible for developing the hormone were taken to court in 2009, Montagnier testified at the trial, stating that he had warned the doctors of the possible dangers of their drug. Ultimately the defendants were acquitted of involuntary homicide.

Even if only a few deaths have been reported so far, Montagnier believes that mass vaccination should be halted. He is also wary of the booster shots, noting that no studies have been made of the effects of repetitive vaccination on people.

A caller to the radio show, named Mark Dowyer, described how his wife fell sick with C-J two months after receiving the second dose of the Pfizer vaccine. “It’s a terrible disease,” he said. “it’s like mad cow disease in humans.” He described his situation, watching his wife wasting away, as a “living hell.”

Montagnier expressed surprise that C-J disease has appeared so early on in vaccine recipients. “We expected something like this might happen but not so quickly. Barely a year has elapsed since the first vaccinations and we are already seeing severe neurological side effects.”

He warned that: “We are moving towards a catastrophe. If we do not take precautions now, our entire civilization is at stake.”

Israel’s last war with Gaza brought into a focus a problem considered even more of a threat to Israel than Hamas’ missiles – the threat of a potential rebellion from within by Israel’s own Arab citizens. Incited by Hamas, prior and during the war, Israeli Arabs decided to do their part by taking to the streets and rioting. In all the cities with substantial Arab populations where, till now, Jews and Arabs lived side by side – Acre, Haifa, Jaffa, Lod, Ramle to name the most important – the Arabs torched Jewish-owned stores, cars, synagogues, homes and wherever they could, beat up solitary Jews. In Lod, the riots were described as reminiscent of Kristallnacht (the 1938 pogrom in Germany when thousands of synagogues, Jewish homes and stores were ransacked by the Nazis). In Jerusalem, the events took a different turn because Arabs and Jews are not integrated in Jerusalem and there is a clear demarcation line between the two populations: the Arabs live in East Jerusalem and the Jews on the Western side. When riots do take place, they are usually between the Arabs and the police and, indeed, it was the rioting in Jerusalem over a property dispute that set off the latest conflict with Hamas.

To gage the seriousness of the threat from within one only needs a little maths. Israel has a population of close to 9 million of whom almost 2 million are Israeli Arabs. The latter are not to be confused with the Palestinians living on the West Bank under the Palestinian Authority (PA) or with the Palestinians living in Gaza under Hamas. If incited further, these 2 million Arabs could constitute a very dangerous fifth column. Ironically, Israeli Arabs do not have much to complain about. They are full-fledged citizens of the State of Israel who enjoy freedom of religion, movement and speech. They represent a high percentage of students in all Israel’s universities and institutions of higher education and a high percentage of medical staff and patients in Israel’s hospitals; they hold top positions as heads of academic departments, heads of hospitals and sit as judges on Israel’s highest courts; they have their own political parties and are represented in Israel’s parliament – the Knesset. And, today, for the first time, an Israeli Arab political party, Raam, is part of the Israeli government and its leader, Mansour Abbas, holds a position of Deputy Minister.

This brings us to one of the calumnies constantly leveled against Israel and which Hamas helped to reinforce in its latest war. In addition to aiming to reclaim Jerusalem, Hamas declared war against Israel in order to fight against Israel’s “acts of ethnic cleansing and racist system of apartheid.”

Let’s look at this accusation of apartheid/ethnic cleansing closer. Yes, there is a difference in standard of living between Israeli Arab villages and Israeli cities but, at the same time, the cost of living in these villages is considerably lower than in the rest of the country and the standard of living of Israeli Arabs is much higher than in neighboring Arab countries or in the West Bank. And, yes, there are roadblocks and checkpoints between Israel and the Palestinian Authority on the West Bank – the reason stems not from any racist policy but from the fact that Palestinian terrorists from the West Bank have cost the lives of hundreds of Israeli Jews (1,375 were murdered since 2000). These terrorist attacks are not just condoned by the PA, they are encouraged. In what’s called a “pay for slay” scheme, the PA rewards the terrorists and their families. It pays out millions of dollars in salaries to incarcerated or released terrorists and has a special “martyrs’ fund” for terrorists’ families. Just this month (June 2021), the PA authorized a payment of $42,000 to the family of a terrorist who killed 2 Israelis in 2015.

The accusation that Israel is an apartheid state is such a canard that it is hard to imagine anyone truly believes it. As journalist Caroline Glick remarks, those who level it know it’s not true: they use it simply because it is effective in furthering the goal of delegitimizing the very existence of a Jewish state. (Anyone wishing to understand the complexity of modern Israel should read Glick’s commentaries which can be found on carolineglick.com).

In contrast to Israel’s 2 million Arab citizens who enjoy full citizen rights, let’s see how Arab countries treat their Jews. The question is something of a misnomer since, after the founding of Israel in 1948, nearly all Arab countries expelled their Jewish citizens or made life so difficult for them that they had to leave, bringing about the almost complete dejudaization of the Arab world. The figures speak for themselves: in Egypt, which once had a population of 75,000 Jews, there are less than 10 Jews today; in Lebanon, which once had a population of 20,000 Jews, there are less than 30; in Iraq, which once had a population of 150,000 Jews, less than 4; in Syria, which once had a population of 40,000 Jews, less than 20! Jordan and Saudi Arabia have no Jews living in their territory. Indeed Jewish religious services are prohibited in Saudi Arabia. One wonders which are the true apartheid states and who is carrying out the real ethnic cleansing?

Ironically the only Middle Eastern country which still has a Jewish population is fanatically anti-Zionist Iran. After numbering nearly 100,000 pre-1948, Iran’s Jewish population has dwindled to 8,300. Tiny, but nevertheless, it is still the largest Jewish community in the Muslim world. To survive, its members have to toe the line, keep a low profile and never mention pro-Zionist sentiments. They are also prohibited from leaving the country!

Following the Arab rioting during the last war with Gaza, the hot question in Israel today is whether co-existence is possible between Arabs and Jews within Israel. To understand the problem, it is worth zeroing in on one of the cities that most epitomized the conflict. Lod, in central Israel, is a city with a low socio-economic population of 77,000, of whom a quarter are Arab. In the Ramat Eshkol neighborhood Jewish and Arab residents live side by side, sharing the same apartment buildings, the same streets and the same facilities. Following the eruption of violence on Jerusalem’s Temple Mount, the Arabs began rioting in Lod. Neighbors who shared the same landing as Jews and were considered friends, rushed out to the streets to indicate to the rioters the apartments where Jews lived. Quoted in the Jerusalem Post, Rivi Abramovich, a 28 year old mother of two recounted her emotions that day: “People who I saw in the stairwell, people who helped me bring the groceries inside, my trust in them was damaged when I saw my neighbor go down and join the riots.”

The same picture repeated itself across the country. In Acre, where Jews and Arabs pride themselves on peaceful co-existence and on having worked together to beautifully restore Acre’s old city, the rioters returned again and again to burn down restaurants, stores and hotels.

Sadly, the pattern of friendly Arabs suddenly turning against their neighbors is not new. One of the most vivid accounts of Arab rioting against Jews – long before Israel was founded and long before the made-up accusations of apartheid or ethnic cleansing – can be found in Albert Londres’ book The Wandering Jew Has Arrived (see link to book). Londres, a non-Jewish French journalist who was reporting from the Holyland in 1929, graphically described the Arab riots of that year in Hebron and Tzfat. This was when the Arabs numbered 700,000 in the Holyland and the Jews 130,000. Incited by their leaders (with the help of false rumors such as the Jews were distributing poisoned sweets to Muslim children), the Arab citizens turned on their neighbors with cut-throat virulence: in Hebron “…they cut off hands, they cut off fingers, they held heads over a stove, they gouged out eyes. A rabbi stood immobile, commending the souls of his Jews to God – they scalped him” (ibid p. 173); in Tzfat, an old man tells Londres that he was born in Tzfat and that they came to his house, killed his wife, and tried to kill him and that it was four of his neighbors whom he knew well (ibid. p. 176).

Arab hatred and violence against Jews was thus vibrant long before Israel ever existed, and has little to do with the return of so-called ‘occupied territories’ or the expansion of Jewish ‘settlements’. It simply aims to destroy the Jewish state. While liberal Israelis, even those whose businesses and homes were destroyed, talk of the need to rebuild trust and promote co-existence with the Arabs in Israel, Glick is more skeptical. “To put an end to the pogroms, Israel must end its tolerance for Arab Jew hatred. Israel’s future and the possibility that coexistence between Jews and Arabs will ever be restored, depend on our willingness to forthrightly demand that Arab Israelis abandon their hatred of this country” (Israel Hayom 14.5.2021). This entails public acceptance of Israel as a Jewish state (which Israeli Arab political parties refuse to do), with the right of sovereignty over its territory.

It was only a month ago that the photos coming out of India shocked the world: bodies piled up in streets, funeral pyres everywhere, hospitals inundated with sick patients as India battled its worst Covid crisis since the start of the epidemic. At the peak of the crisis, on May 7, the country registered 414,188 cases per day and over 4,000 deaths per day. But as quickly as the epidemic surged, so it has declined. Since May 7, the number of cases has fallen sharply to around 50,000 per day. Coincidentally, the surge and the decline took place over a period of 36 days. The negative growth has been seen in nearly all India’s states including hotspots such as Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Delhi.

No one has, as yet, explained this phenomenon. The first hypothesis is that the surge was due to the new Delta variant which is considerably more transmissible than its predecessors. It could also be a seasonal phenomenon reflecting the drop in cases witnessed last summer around the world or it could be due to the country’s vaccination program which has now reached 11% of the population. And there could also be a reverse ‘vaccine’ explanation which associates the surge with the start of the vaccination program, rather than with inadequate vaccination. This is because, as has been well documented, the first vaccine shot is often followed by a peak in an infection rate (as witnessed in Israel, the UAR, the UK and Chile) and this could be due to a phenomenon known as ADE (antibody dependent enhancement), which occurs when the antibodies produced by a vaccine facilitate, rather than block, the entry of a virus.

The situation in February 2021

With its 1.3 billion population, densely populated cities and rudimentary health services, India could have suffered devastating consequences from the Covid epidemic. And this indeed was the fear when, after a slow takeoff, the virus spread like wildfire across the Indian continent. But, as the West grappled with a super-contagious second wave, India appeared to have achieved what every country aspired to – it flattened the curve dramatically from a peak of 90,000 cases per day in September 2020 to 12,000 per day at the end of January 2021.

And it did this without numerous lockdowns and without vaccines. India imposed one two-month lockdown last year and its vaccination program began only in mid-January. The curve, in the meantime, had begun to dip sharply already in November 2020.

Two main reasons have been put forward for this surprising situation. It could be that India achieved herd immunity relatively quickly. According to a recent survey, half the population in major cities such as Delhi, Mumbai and Pune have antibodies, meaning they were exposed to the virus and are now protected. The other reason for the low level of the epidemic is India’s young population. More than half the country’s population is under 25 and just 6.5% are over 65. Dr. Randeep Guleria, Director of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences seemed to confirm this theory: “In certain areas, like large cities, we have come close to achieving a good amount of immunity – if not herd immunity, close to it.”

Alexandra Henrion-Caude is another French scientist who has spoken out and questioned the standard Covid narrative given by the authorities. She says that what propelled her to speak out is injustice: “There is an injustice of treatment and an injustice in the level of understanding of the general public. Many people feel they are in the dark and they asked me to share my understanding of the situation.”

Origin of the virus

Like Luc Montagnier, Henrion-Caude questions the orthodox narrative regarding the origin of the virus. “I was immediately troubled by the way the authorities presented the story very quickly as though they were dealing with certainties. At first they said the virus came from pangolins sold at the Wuhan wet market. Then they said no, it did not originate in pangolins but in bats. Then back to the pangolin. None of this gelled with the scientific data. As a geneticist, I was very interested in the structure of SARS-CoV- 2 because it had an unusual form compared to other coronaviruses. In the latter, the spike protein consists of two elements, s1 and s2 but in SARS-CoV-2 s1 and s2 are separated by the insertion of another sequence whose role is to impart to human cells the possibility of being infected by the virus. In scientific jargon, this is called gain-of-function. It is plausible that this insertion was human-made.”

Lockdowns and mask-wearing

Henrion-Caude also questions the established views that lockdowns and mask-wearing are necessary for combating the pandemic. She says that we are witnessing an “overkill” of measures that are totally experimental and have never been applied before;

*isolating a healthy community – never happened before

*obliging healthy people to wear masks – never happened before

* compelling people to wear masks outside – never happened before

*acceleration of the vaccine process and skipping important stages – never happened before

She laments the fact that no one talks about the physical and psychological dangers of wearing masks. “Masks,” she says “can amplify the transmission of bacteria, cause skin infections and psychological damage.” She points out that, in France, pregnant women are obliged to wear a mask when they give birth. “Imagine what it means when the first thing a newborn sees is a masked face, instead of a loving mouth and warm facial expression.”

Vaccines

Her concern regarding the new RNA vaccines (Pfizer and Moderna) stems from the fact that they were developed in a crisis situation and use a technology never before applied on humans. “Entire populations are being used as part of clinical trials since Pfizer is due to submit its final results only in 1/2023 and Moderna in 10/2022.”

“I am in no way opposed to RNA (ribonucleic acid). I worked with RNA for 12 years and I am a firm believer in RNA’s potential for numerous applications.. to the point that I served as associate editor of a journal called Current Gene Therapy dedicated to RNA. So, if there is someone who is pro-RNA and not reluctant to use it, it is me. It is precisely because I know RNA well and its ability to interact with a myriad of molecules that I think it is inconceivable to give it to healthy people, after only 10 years of development and accumulation of knowledge. The RNA vaccines can cause totally unpredictable consequences. It’s a Pandora’s box.”

All the new vaccines – both the mRNA (Pfizer and Moderna) and the DNA ones (Astrazeneca, Johnson & J0hnson, Sputnik) – involve genetic modification. This is why Henrion-Caude refers to them as gene therapies. “They inject genetic information into people in the same way as genetic information is injected into tomatoes to create genetically modified tomatoes. One cannot possibly say that the vaccines are not modifying our genes, because they are introducing into our bodies genetic information which we did not have before.”

RNA>DNA controversy

The experts have been practically unanimous on this point – RNA cannot leak into DNA. But Henrion-Caude maintains that this is not exact since there exists in nature the phenomenon of reverse transcription when DNA can transform into RNA and vice versa. This phenomenon is found in retroviruses such as the HIV virus. She also cites a study published by Rudolf Jaenisch, the father of transgenic science and professor of biology at MIT, which confirmed that the integration of RNA SARS CoV2 into a human gene is possible. “Even if this is a rare phenomenon,” she says, “it could affect thousands of people when millions are vaccinated. It involves changing the human race.”

ADE- antibody dependent enhancement

“The new vaccines aim to make people produce antibodies to the virus. The problem is that these antibodies can be good ones or bad ones. If they turn out to be bad antibodies, this means that they will facilitate the entry of the virus. This is what is called ADE and this why after the first vaccine dose, people often get Covid and we see a spike in infections.

Henrion Caude says that recent studies on flu vaccines should alert us to possible consequences of the new vaccines:

“A study of a large cohort of 6000 people, where half the cohort was vaccinated with the flu vaccine and the other half not, showed that respiratory infections were higher among the vaccinated group than the non-vaccinated. We should ask ourselves whether we will see the same phenomenon with Covid vaccines.

“Another study of 39 countries showed that countries where most people had received the flu vaccine had the highest Covid mortality rates. This does not mean that, if you get the flu vaccine you have a greater chance of getting Covid because that necessitates proving causality but it does mean that this issue should be investigated further.

“A very interesting new study has shown that people who were given the flu vaccine exhale 6 times more viral particles in their breath than the non-vaccinated. The same phenomenon could also apply to the Covid vaccines.

“There is a crazy desire to create a world without Covid. Authorities separate families, force everyone to wear masks and want to vaccinate the entire population. I say that these measures are not justified. What we need to do is to treat patients, do more research, be vigilant and constantly reassess the situation. “

(The above quotes are taken from interviews given by Henrion-Caude to Nexus Magazine, Radio-Sud and TV Libertes)

Luc Montagnier is 89 years’ old. He won the Nobel prize in 2008 for his discovery of the HIV virus so if anyone knows something about viruses it is he. And Montagnier has no doubt about it: SARS-CoV-2 was caused by human manipulation. In his quiet but authoritative manner he describes how his research team came to this conclusion when they detected the “unnatural presence of HIV sequences in the virus.” Such sequences, he says are a sign of bio-engineering which can only be the work of molecular biologists. He says his team was not the first to identify the HIV sequences in the virus. A group of Indian researchers did the same, published their results but were forced to withdraw their study because of external pressure. “I am too old for anyone to pressure me,” he laughs, “so I can work freely.”

Montagnier’s critics say that the HIV sequences he identified are too short to be meaningful and could just be a coincidence. He replies that the length of the sequences is enough to carry genetic material. He does not level accusations at anyone or any one country. “The manipulation was not necessarily malevolent,” he says. “It was probably part of an effort to develop a vaccine against AIDS.” (Surprisingly AIDS still affects millions of people [approx. 38 million] around the world, the large majority in Africa but also in central Asia, Eastern Europe and Latin America, so the search for a vaccine would be logical for a research lab.)

Despite his age and stature, Montagnier was immediately vilified for his assertion. “There is enormous pressure to silence everything related to the origins of the virus. It’s a blackout,” he asserts. Asked if he is worried by what has been described as a ‘scientific climate of terror’ he answers: “I am very worried because scientific truth does not exist anymore and this is grave. Today it is hard to say who is telling the truth.”

Montagnier is not alone in his views. He is part of a small group of scientists who are convinced that the virus was fabricated and say they can prove it. “We have identified other sequences, not just HIV,” he says. “We also identified the plasmodium vivax parasite, meaning that there is also malaria in the virus.”

Understanding the origins of the virus is not just a matter of politics or the desire to get down to the truth of the matter. It is vital in order to find efficient ways of fighting the pandemic. Current methods of lockdowns and vaccines may not prove to be the best solutions. Luc Montagnier wants scientists to think out-of-the box. “In biological philosophy, the belief is that the infectious agent of an illness is either a virus or a bacteria, but germs have an intelligence of their own and know how to join together. In the case of the HIV virus, I had the hypothesis that there was also an infectious co-factor, a small bacteria that favored immune suppression and I was proved right.”

Montagnier says that the same hypothesis applies to SARS-CoV-2: “It is a virus with a small bacterial component and this can be verified by checking the sensitivity of the virus to antibiotics.” Montagnier points out that this is the reason why the antibiotic azithromycine is an important therapy for reducing Covid symptoms.

As for vaccines, he is cautious: “The new type of vaccines risks, in the long run, having totally unpredictable consequences, such as cancer etc. We just do not know what will happen in a year or two. Human beings should not serve as guinea pigs.”

Montagnier wants to see more extensive trials on the vaccines and, in particular, more research on treatment methods.

(the above quotes are taken from interviews given by Montagnier to CNews on May 2, 2020 and France Soir on December 17, 2020)

Didier Raoult is the black sheep of the French medical establishment. He is an unwelcome oddity who persists in doing his own thing, in challenging the orthodox conventions about Covid-19 and in treating patients with his own protocol. To boot he dares to broadcast his results. Raoult gives regular video briefings in French informing the public of his work, his views and the latest data on the epidemic. The French authorities have tried to silence him but to no avail. He continues to speak out.

Dr. Raoult’s base is Marseilles, a fitting city from where to throw down the gauntlet to the authorities in Paris. He serves as the Director of the IHU – the Institut Hospitalier Universitaire Mediteranee Infection, which he helped to create. His credentials are impeccable. Raoult is considered one of the world’s leading experts on transmittable diseases and is the most cited microbiologist in Europe, with numerous weighty books and thousands of academic papers to his name. He even has a bacteria genus named after him – Raoultella!

Raoult became famous in Spring 2020 when the pandemic first broke out. “Hysteria began as soon as I started to speak out about the treatment I had introduced for Covid patients which was a combination of hydroxychloroquine, which the Chinese were also using, and the antibiotic azithromycin. We found that by treating patients early, we obtained good results.”

Raoult, like other colleagues, was shocked that Covid patients across France and elsewhere were not given any form of treatment but simply told to stay home. His mantra, which he keeps repeating, is that Covid 19 is a disease that can and must be treated. “It is vital to stop spreading panic. High mortality affects primarily those with a very low life expectancy. By treating early and efficiently we can maintain a low rate of mortality.”

In December 2020 Raoult gave this end of year update:

“We are probably unique in the world: we tested more than 350,000 people at our institute and over 20,000 tested positive. Some were treated close by and 16,000 at IHU. 2000 were hospitalized and 14000 treated as outpatients. We began treatment early. In such conditions we achieve a mortality rate of between 0.5-1% per 1,000, which is very low.”

“Of those who died, more than 80% had a life expectancy of less than 1 year. So the strategy of early detection and early treatment leads to a very low mortality rate.”

The greatest scientific scandal of the 21st century

The hysteria that followed Raoult’s declarations was acute. He received death threats, was treated as a charlatan and his treatment dubbed all kinds of names: ‘controversial’ ‘dubious’ ‘questionable’… even though hydroxychloroquine had been used for years in France, was sold over the counter and had never been called into question before.

A similar phenomenon was experienced by other doctors. As soon as they began talking about the results they had achieved with hydroxychloroquine or other cheap drugs, pressure was exerted to silence them. At the beginning of the epidemic, Dr. Jean Jacques Erlstein, together with 2 other doctors, treated 200 patients with a combination of azithromycin and zinc. “We had no hospitalizations and no deaths.” As soon as these doctors published their results in a national newspaper, they were instructed by the medical authorities to desist from talking about the subject and cease using antibiotics. No justification was given.

It was clear that a nationwide clampdown had begun on the use of hydroxychloroquine and antibiotics to treat Covid patients. In March, GPs in France were prohibited from prescribing the drug, on the grounds that it was dangerous.

“This was the craziest thing I ever heard, says Raoult. “This drug has been around for 80 years. It is cheap (costs just $5 a dose) and is used by almost one third of the world’s population. In France it has been sold at a rate of 36 million pills a year.. and suddenly they were saying it was dangerous!”

Continued onslaught

Despite the onslaught against him, the death threats and the recent charge of charlatanism leveled at him by the Ordre des Medecins (French Medical Association), Raoult persists with his treatment and research. “To accuse me of not using a scientific approach is ridiculous. I have been extensively published, I have dozen books to my name… it’s absurd. I have been accused of charlatanism because I express a different view form that of the Ministry of Health. But this is my duty. I am paid to do research and to teach and it is my obligation to publish the results of my research.”

Dr. Raoult’s Insights& Recommendations

Oxygen: A major sign of Covid infection is a drop in oxygen saturation. In contrast to other respiratory diseases, with Covid, the oxygen level drops before respiratory problems begin. Once these begin it can often be too late. So if a person is infected, it is very important to watch his/her oxygen level. This can be gaged with an oximeter (bought in any pharmacy). A level under 95 is cause for concern and requires immediate attention.

Transmission: Unlike the current view which places the emphasis on airborne/aerosol transmission of the virus and the need to wear masks, Raoult stresses that transmission of the virus is primarily handborn and comes from contact with contaminated surfaces. This is the case it seems with all respiratory infections. He cites a study that shows that the main points of Covid contamination are supermarket trolley handlebars and handlebars/buttons on public transport. The need to regularly disinfect one’s hands is as important as ever.

Amazing things found in sewers :

The naval-fire battalion of Marseille has developed an original method of gathering data about the virus by analyzing trace concentrations in the city’s sewers. Their findings have been able to identify new mutations and pinpoint where the virus is increasing and where it is declining. They are also able to identify the most contaminated items. In contrast to claims that restaurants are important sources of contamination, the firemen’s latest findings show that the most contaminated items do not come from restaurants but rather from private homes.

“This is a revolutionary method of testing,” says Raoult. “It offers us unique epidemiological data and costs much less than current methods such as testing etc.”

Lockdowns: Raoult does not believe lockdowns and social restrictions lower the mortality rate. The major factors affecting mortality, he says, are life expectancy and treatment. “I am afraid of the fear which is not justified by the numbers. The more people panic the less one treats. “

New mutations: As an honest scientist, Raoult asserts that the only thing he is certain about is that the virus is unpredictable! “All the predictions that were made have been proved wrong. We have never seen a form of epidemic such as this one. It is not typical of a coronavirus and takes different forms in different places. The Danes reported last summer that new mutants had appeared on mink farms. This was a case of zoonosis, an infection that is transmitted from animals to humans and vice versa. When animals live in large densities this can lead to major epidemics. And mink colonies had major epidemics of the human coronavirus, perhaps transmitted to them by a worker. The Danes immediately culled their mink farms. As for the new British strain, it is very unusual because it has 1,400 mutations. Usually mutations accumulate gradually and have intermediary stages but, in this case, they appeared all in one go. Several hypotheses have been put forward regarding the origin of the new strain. Some say it could have come from a mink colony while, in Britain, some hypothesize that it came from chronically ill patients who were given plasma taken from Covid recovered patients plus the drug Remdesivir.”

Vaccines:

Raoult is circumspect regarding the new vaccines: “No one knows what will happen when you inject genetic material into humans. When you begin to manipulate genetic material, complicated things can happen. From the start, everyone was looking for a magic wand… at first they thought it would be the drug Remdesivir, now the vaccines. Instead of putting into place a real strategy of testing and treating. We should be fighting a guerilla war, like they did in Vietnam from house to house, we need to fight from patient to patient.

I am not an anti-vaxxer but I know about vaccines. I gave a talk 10 years ago about infectious diseases and vaccines and I explained that in the last 30 years the field that devoured the most government money was that of vaccines. First they tried to find a vaccine against malaria, then against HIV… all without success. The same is still true today. This is because these diseases are not really immunizable. The first vaccines were for diseases you get only once. Then it’s easy. When you keep getting re-infections, it becomes much more difficult. For instance, Covid has so many mutations that we are now seeing people who were infected last year getting re-infected again. The question is : will the vaccines, which are based on the first strain of the virus, continue to be effective?”
